In 2025, Rico Ace became one of Uk Ug’s biggest breakout stars – not least because he featured on “LV Sandals”, alongside fakemink and fellow Liverpudlian EsDeeKid, which became one of the year’s most significant songs of any genre. He cemented that status this April with the release of his debut album, Blackjack, and its lead single “Dope Boyz”, followed by a triumphant tour which landed in London this week.

It wasn’t long before the fashion world took notice: alongside mink and esdeekid, Rico Ace performed at Demna’s Gucci show in Milan this February, and you’ll find countless people citing him as a style inspiration on TikTok and Instagram (he can be credited with popularising the Union Jack beanie). His lyrics, meanwhile, routinely reference fashion brands, including one of his most well-loved tracks, “Dolce and Gabbana”; “Risk”, which shouts out the late Virgil Abloh, and “Evisu Jeans”, a loving paean to the Japanese denim brand.

It’s no surprise, then, that the fits were strong among the thousands of fans who showed up to his sold-out show at the Kentish Town Forum on Monday (May 25). The style on display was mostly casual – the gig took place during a heat wave, after all – with people wearing shorts of varying degrees of bagginess and distress; football jerseys, tank tops, see-through chiffon dresses and slouchy designer t-shirts. There was also a surprising amount of denim for such a sweltering evening (the great Gen Z baggy jeans revival shows no signs of dying out yet), and a few more maximalist touches throughout the crowd, including brightly coloured fur boots and a couple of guys who – in a commitment to the bit bordering on madness – turned up dressed in heavy black suits.
